The 2Dorks Pinewood Derby ended with a final heat between Iowa State University's Matt Campbell and University of Iowa's Kirk Ferentz. After two heats, the two were tied 1-1 for wins, and it came down to the last heat.

The two cars raced down the track, staying almost perfectly even with each other, but at the very end of the track, Matt Campbell's car pulled ahead just enough to squeak out a win.

His car rolled across the finish line with a time of 3.710 seconds, with Kirk Ferentz' car right behind at 3.742 seconds.

It was hard to tell from the stands which car had crossed first until the times displayed on the screen, and the replay showed just how close the race was.

The Iowa Scout Trophy was presented to Troy Petersen, who represented Iowa State the day of the Pinewood Derby. Troy played for Iowa State in his college days of the late 90's, as a two time all Big 8 defensive lineman.

BSA's Illowa Council will display the Iowa Scout Trophy at the Quad Cities River Bandits game tonight only (June 4th). Also on display will be the cars submitted by Kirk Ferentz and Matt Campbell.

The game starts at 6:30pm, and the park is also doing a Pint Glass giveaway as well as their Friday night home game tradition of fireworks.

It'll only be there tonight, so you better get down and check it out until it goes to Iowa State for the year.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
