Maybe this will settle which state has the worst drivers once and for all. Sorry Illinois, but you didn't beat Iowa, only one state did.

A new study from Bankrate ranked every state from the best place for drivers to the worst. If you want the best driving experience, looks like you should stick to the Midwest.

The rankings come from things like cost, safety, and reliability. Here are the top ten best states:

  1. North Dakota
  2. Iowa
  3. Ohio
  4. Minnesota
  5. Nebraska
  6. Indiana
  7. Kansas
  8. Wyoming
  9. South Dakota
  10. Vermont

Illinois got stuck in the middle and ranked at #23. The worst states for drivers are California, Hawaii, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Washington.
