Iowa Creep Cops Plea Deal For Child Porn On Gravy-Covered Laptop
Iowa man is giving Florida man a run for his money.
A Des Moines man is facing 20 years in prison after he was busted in April with child porn on his laptop.
Robert Leo Watson, 54, was arrested after taking his damaged laptop to in for examination by Best Buy's "Geek Squad" says the criminal complaint. The computer had stopped working because he had "spilled gravy on the keyboard rendering the device unusable."
It was during their exam that the geeks found files on his laptop that looked to contain illicit images which prompted them to contact the authorities. He had saved the files under names like "13 year old" and "14 year old." During questioning he confessed to downloading the images.
He's facing a maximum of two years in prison and $625 for each count against him. He's been jailed since the his arrest in April and is scheduled for sentencing on September 26 in District Court in Des Moines.
