Iowa Continues to Be Ranked in the Happiest States

Wallet Hub just put out its annual list of the happiest states in America. And Iowa retained its position in the top ten.

They look at mental health stats, how much sleep people get, how safe each state is, and how many hours people work.

Wisconsin, New Jersey, and New Hampshire fell out of the top ten and were replaced by North Dakota, Idaho, and Maryland. The ten happiest states in 2018 are:

1. Hawaii
2. Utah
3. Minnesota
4. North Dakota
5. California
6. Idaho
7. Maryland
8. Iowa
9. South Dakota
10. Nebraska

The least happy states are basically the same as last year: West Virginia, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alaska, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and New Mexico.
