In a shocking move, The Illinois Department of Transportation has suspended the Inspection Prep Work on the I-80 Bridge until further notice.  The reason given is the increased use of the bridge at this time due to complications from the flooding of downtown Davenport.  The release is below:

The Illinois Department of Transportation announce[d] today that construction work on the I-80 Bridge over the Mississippi River will be suspended as of  Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. The suspension of work is due to the increased traffic on I-80 because of the downtown Quad City flooding causing limited access to the other river crossings. Until further notice, all lanes will remain open on the I-80 Mississippi Bridge.

Props to the IDOT for using intuition to ease the traffic congestion!  I can't believe I just wrote that.  I'm going to re-read it just to be sure....
