A high school teacher from Visalia, California is in jail following a bizarre classroom incident that was caught on video.

52-year-old Margaret Gieszinger came into her first period chemistry class at University Preparatory High School wielding a pair of scissors and declared it was haircut day, according to students. She called a male student to the front of the room and seated him facing the class.

Gieszinger then started cutting chunks of the student's hair off while belting out the "Star-Spangled Banner." During her performance, another student ran to the main office for help. As the video continues, the teacher tries to grab another girl's hair as the class runs for safety.

One student said the teacher had freaked out earlier in the week because a test was missing and she blamed the students for stealing it. Gieszinger was arrested on suspicion of corporal injury to a child.
