Girl Scout’s Brutally Honest Cookie Review Surges Sales Past 16K Boxes
11-year-old Charlotte McCourt may be selling Girl Scout cookies, but that doesn't mean she has to like all of them. She had some choice words about the Toffee-tastic cookies.
"The Toffee-tastic is a bleak, flavorless, gluten-free wasteland," the sixth grader wrote in her review. "I'm telling you, it's as flavorless as dirt." She also rates each cookie.
The scout wrote the letter in an email to Mike Rowe, who then read it in a video:
Charlotte's original goal was to sell 300 boxes of cookies and thanks to Rowe, she surged past it. Along with the video, Rowe included a link to Charlotte's scout site.
Her cookie sales are up past 16,000 boxes, a statement from the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey says they're thrilled for Charlotte" and "proud that she exercised her entrepreneurial skills."
Of the boxes sold, nearly 8,000 are going to troops stationed overseas.
