Former Quad City Storm Player Checks A Guy Through The Glass
Former Quad City Storm player, Tommy Stang, has a viral clip circling the internet after a move he made in the Sunday matinee game.
Stang played for the Quad City Storm through the 2021-2022 season, playing 37 games and scoring 13 goals. Early in the 2022-2023 season, Stang was waived after just 3 games but was immediately picked up by the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
Sunday, during the 3rd period of the game with the Birmingham Bulls at the Pensacola Ice Flyers Pensacola Bay Center, Tommy Stang made a rush for the net with the puck, but couldn't get the shot off.
The Birmingham Bulls' #11, Stefan Brucato picked up the puck and started to work his way out of the Bulls' defensive zone, and Tommy Stang caught up to him, giving him a shove into the boards.
Brucato stood tall in the hit, but the boards couldn't handle the hit, and Brucatos upper body passed through the glass, shattering it all over the ice.
The broken glass obviously brought the game to a short halt while it was cleaned up and the panel was replaced, but that didn't stop the Ice Flyers from taking down the Bulls in a shootout.
One Bull scored in the shootout - Vadim Vasjonkin, but two Ice Flyers did, bringing the win. Those goals were scored by Kolten Olynek and of course, Tommy Stang.

The Quad City Storm take on the Peoria Rivermen this Thursday February 23rd at the Vibrant Arena before heading on the road for two games against the Macon Mayhem.
