Florida Woman Chokes Mom, Squeezes Brother’s Privates Over Missing PS4 Game
This is a type of story that's going to sound really dated in just a few years, now that gaming is going fully digital and the need for physical copies is less and less every year.
A woman in Marion County was just found guilty of domestic battery by strangulation and another count of battery after a violent dispute over a missing video game.
Police said 21-year-old Alexandra Dominguez followed her mom and brother home after a little outing because they were returning a PlayStation 4 to her - only she wasn't happy.
One of her games and the box for the PlayStation were missing. An argument insued, and then Dominguez forced her way into the house, shoved her mom to the ground, and started choking her with her hands around her neck.
Her brother ran in to try and stop her from choking their mom, but then she turned on him too. Cops said she turned and grabbed his groin and squeezed super hard, then started hitting him multiple times. Both victims had visible injuries that were documented at the scene.
She left the scene and police were unable to reach her by phone. A warrant got issued for her arrest and she was taken into custody with no problems.
In court, the quick conviction came about because of clear physical evidence and the victims having a completely consistent testimony.
Dominguez is awaiting sentencing for the crime, but in Florida, domesitic strangulation is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
