Florida Man Robs House Because God Told Him to, Throws a Bible at Police
The Bible says it's the Sword of the Spirit, but I don't think you're supposed to literally use it as a weapon, unless I missed that part of Sunday School.
Police in Summerfield, Florida last week for a call about a burglary, and when they arrived, the neighbor was outside getting in their faces.
In true Floridan attire, 39-year-old Robert Hoskins was arguing with police in his gray boxers with a cross around his neck.
Eventually, the argument got out of control, and Robert threw his Bible at the officer's head. When it hit him in the face, Robert yelled "I condemn you."
The officers arrested him, and in the process, he admitted he broke into the house next door, because "God told him to." His wife told police he has a bit of a drug problem.
The sheriff's department even talked about him in their weekly rundown video (They start his story at about 57 seconds):
Robert was charged with burglary, larceny, resisting arrest, battery on a law enforcement officer, and criminal mischief.
