Florida Couple Accuses Neighbors of Stealing Gold From Litter Box
70-year-old Cynthia Copley and her 69-year-old husband needed to evacuate ahead of Hurricane Irma and had to move $26,000 worth of gold bars that they'd hidden in a cat litter box.
They asked a neighbor to move the box to a boat on their property.
The storm thankfully missed the couples home, so they thought they were in the clear. Until the discovered that their gold was missing a week later. Their neighbor says he moved it from Panama City to Jacksonville.
Cynthia called the Bay County Sheriff's Office, three months later Corey Lofton is facing grand theft charges.
