Firefighters Mow Veteran’s Lawn After Treating His Heat Exhaustion
Usually "Florida Man" or "Florida Men" stories are something to laugh at, just because of how outrageous or disgusting they are. This is a feel-good "Florida Man" story.
A crew from Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Station 47 was dispatched in response to call reporting a man who passed out while cutting his grass. Firefighters said when they arrived, they found an 80-year-old Army veteran suffering from heat exhaustion while mowing the lawn.
After helping him cool down, footage shows the crew stepping in to finish the job for him. “This is truly what it is all about,” the department wrote on Facebook.
Thanks to the exposure their story got, a local lawn service company agreed to "start maintaining the vet’s yard free of charge.”
