Local Restaurants Clutch Up For Floyd’s Burgers When Their Griddle Broke Down
This week we saw Facebook used for good (rare, I know).
One of the popular local burger trucks, Floyd's Burgers, posted that their griddle cracked from the cold weather and that it was irreparable. They shared that the costs were large, and they wouldn't be opening their truck until they could get it sorted out.
Shortly after the post went up, Finns Grill in Milan saw the post, and put up their own post, asking anyone who knew the owners of Floyd's to let him know that Finn's had an extra griddle that they could take to keep operating, and "work out the details later."
The posts had dozens of comments from people praising the restaurant for helping out another local business, people saying that they sent texts out to let Floyd's know there was someone wanting to help them out, and people praising the food from both places.
A few hours later, Floyd's posted that they would be back on schedule for Thursday's dinner at Five Cities, thanks to the lending hand from Finns, and the Davenport Famous Dave's stepped up to help them out as well.
After checking out multiple offers from local people offering up griddles, Finns, and Famous Dave's, they got what they needed in the end, and will be back out on the road.
Go support all of these businesses - and if the kindness between all of them doesn't convince you, maybe some food pictures will.
