Honda has, once again, reclaimed the fastest lawnmower title. After being dethroned in 2015 by a Norwegian man, it has now broken the Guinness Record for fastest accelerating lawnmower after reaching speeds of 100 mph in 6 seconds.

The prototype dubbed "The Honda Mean Mower" was driven by stunt driver Dekran Lausitzring on a track in Dresden, Germany.

Speed was tracked by a VBOX onboard recording device and averaged 6.29 seconds in two different runs.

Honda says, "The mower is outfitted with the same four-cylinder, 200-horsepower engine as Honda’s Fireblade “superbike,” hidden in the body of a tractor. It achieves a top speed of 150 mph, while the company’s top-rated standard lawnmowers top out at 4 mph."

Not only does it move fast, but Honda also said that it needed to demonstrate to the people at Guinness that the mower could also cut grass even with all of its modifications.

Reminds me of the time that Tim Taylor supped up his riding lawnmower to win a race against Bob Villa on Home Improvement.
