F-15 Ride-Along Passenger Ejects Accidentally On Taxiway
Backseat drivers are the worst, but you don't want them getting tossed from the car, right? Same thing goes for planes, I assume.
A backseat passenger in an F-15D Eagle from the 104th Fighter Wing apparently had a mishap at the Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts.
An undated video posted on social media shows the aftermath of the incident, where you can see a puff of smoke coming from the back of the plane, which is still taxiing. The canopy of the plane is not where it's supposed to be, lying on the left wing.
The footage pans over to show the passenger crawling next to the plane. In a zero-zero ejection (no altitude or speed), the ejection will launch the rider around 200 feet in the air.
You can hear the full air traffic control audio from the incident below.
