Emergency Dispatcher Suspended After Being Heard Snoring on 911 Call
Cleveland police dispatcher Jasmin Thomas has been suspended for six days after falling asleep on the job.
Call records show that she took ten seconds to answer and another forty seconds to transfer a caller to firefighters. Another call reveals Thomas answering and then snoring several seconds later.
Discipline papers show that Thomas has been warned about sleeping on the job before.
The Cleveland Police Union President Steve Loomis said, "Not excuses, but the reality is that she's a single mom. She's going to college full-time, and she's working 40, 50, sometimes 60 hours a week up there."
