Dog Walker Thought She Found A Dead Body, Turns Out It Was Just a Potato

An dog walker in England had the shock of her life when she stumbled across what looked to be part of a foot sticking out of the mud. She called the police, who sent a "large-scale" response to the crime scene.

When they arrived, they discovered that it was just a potato growing next to a mushroom.

The woman had sent a photo of the find to the police when she got home from her walk. The Northumbria Police said the photo "did show what appeared to be a human foot."

“The search team did have a chuckle when they realized it was a potato," the department said, reminding anyone with such a find to let them know even if they're not sure if it's a foot or a potato. “If it does turn out to be a vegetable, our police dogs will thank you for the treat.”
