Des Moines Teens Under Fire For Patriotic USA-Themed Student Section

Last week pitted Valley High School against Des Moines North in a basketball State Tournament. The game was played hard by both teams with the victory going to Valley. But some people are focused more on what was happening in the stands.

The student section for Valley High School held a theme night for the high profile game. In the past they, like other schools, have had themes like beach or safari. On this occasion they went with the red, white, and blue patriotic theme.

People are calling this a racist move on the school's part since North High School has a high population of minority and refugee students.
