Des Moines Police officers rescued three children in an early morning fire.

It happened at an apartment complex in Des Moines, Tuesday morning around 3:15 a.m.

As you can see, the body cam video shows families tossing their children out of windows to save them, as police catch the children and bring them to safety.

The building was evacuated, power was shut off, and some residents were even able to get some of their belongings after the incident.

A press release identified the officers as Cole Johnson, Craig Vasquez, Tyler Kelly and Casey Sanders and stated, "Please join us in thanking these officers, and those who serve them, for leaving their homes every day to help make Des Moines the safe and secure city that it is."

The American Red Cross is helping the displaced families.

There were no confirmed injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
