I love reading stories about how one of the Quad Cities is number one at something. I just wish it wasn't for the number of stolen cars.

A recent study found which city in each state had the most vehicle thefts and Davenport took the top spot in Iowa. With a vehicle theft rate of 278.3 per 100,000 residents, our fair city beat the national average of 237.4 per 100,000 residents.

Last year 1,064 vehicles were stolen in the state, of course we all remember the near daily news stories covering the thefts. Turns out thieves had an eye for Chevy pickups, that was the most stolen car in Iowa.

Let's see if we can't lose our top spot. Remember people: LOCK YOUR DOORS.
