Doing a fun little Google search for upcoming events in the Quad Cities, I stumbled upon a link to grab tickets for the German American Heritage Center's Historic Summer Walking Tours.

Something I need to focus on is being a tourist in my own back yard.  The Quad Cities has so much to offer and we always seem to look for vacations and events that are several hours away. When in actuality we've got some pretty great stuff right here, ya know?

Walking tours are a great way to see the city through a tourist eyes even though you probably drive by every day on your way to work.  It's a great idea to find some extra appreciation for your hometown.

The German American Heritage Center and Museum in downtown Davenport is pleased to offer Historic Summer Walking Tours for Summer 2021.

Learn about where German immigrants worked, lived, and created a community. The walking tour will share details of their personal lives, as well as notable architectural styles found throughout downtown and the Gold Coast.

Tours are offered Saturdays at 10am starting June 5th and running through August 21st. Registration is required. Purchase your tickets on eventbrite.com You can get your tickets here. Each tour costs $5 per person. Tours are limited to 10 persons.

A friendly reminder to be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water!

Let me know if you do this and if there are any other options for touring your back yard.
