Hendrick Motorsports announced this morning that after 18 seasons, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be retiring from NASCAR after the 2017 season.

Earnhardt Jr. will turn 43 this year and competed in more than 600 races in his career. He started on May 30th, 1999 and was voted as NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver for 14 consecutive years.

In his 18 seasons, Junior won 26 races and qualified for the NASCAR playoffs eight times. His final race will be November 19th at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
