Cruise Passenger Gets Stuck in Waterslide Suspended Over the Ocean
A TikTok video showing a cruise passenger trapped in a waterslide more than 100 feet above the ocean has gone viral, leaving viewers shaken. The clip, just 13 seconds long, captures the moment as the woman struggles to push herself forward inside the transparent tube.
Viral Video Sparks Panic Among Viewers
The video, shared with the popular “Jet2 Holiday” sound, shows the passenger stretching her arms out while trying to scoot through the slide. Onlookers can be heard yelling in shock, with one person exclaiming, “Oh my God, she’s literally stuck.” Since being posted, the TikTok has been viewed over 7 million times and liked nearly 250,000 times, with many users admitting the scene gave them panic attacks.
Slide Matches Norwegian Cruise Line’s Ocean Loops
The TikTok did not reveal the ship’s name, but the vessel closely resembles the Norwegian Bliss, a ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. According to Cruisemapper, the Bliss was on a seven-day Alaskan round trip near Victoria, British Columbia, on September 19. The ship features Ocean Loops, a high-thrill waterslide with a trap door that drops riders into two loops extending 11 feet off the ship’s side and suspended 159 feet over the sea.
Norwegian Cruise Line lists safety requirements for the slide, including a minimum height of 40 inches and a weight range between 120 and 300 pounds.
Not the First Time a Passenger Got Stuck
Some TikTok users commented that Ocean Loops slides are equipped with an emergency hatch so crew members can safely assist anyone trapped. This isn’t the first time reports have surfaced of passengers getting stuck on the ride. While it remains unclear how the woman in the video made it out, the footage has convinced many viewers to avoid the slide altogether.
One commenter summed up the sentiment best: “TikTok has definitely taught me to NEVER get in a cruise water slide.”
