Civil War Ceremony in Davenport on Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a special day to my family & me. Us & some aunts, uncles & cousins all meet at a local cemetery where the local VFW does a small ceremony. The 21 gun salute and taps being played is a good reminder for us that we've got it super good here in the United States. It's also a great lesson for the kids to realize that sacrifices have been made to make sure we have these incredible freedoms.
Once a year is not enough but it's a start.
The VFW Post 282 out of Davenport, Iowa is looking for people to honor the sacrifices made during the Civil War.
To anybody who would like to honor the Veterans who lived in the that era and died during the Civil War (THE WAR BETWEEN STATES). PLEASE I NEED HELP. The VFW POST 828 is having a ceremony on 31st of May.
I am asking for your help. PLEASE STEP UP AND HELP VETERANS HONOR VETERANS ON 31ST OF MAY.
LETS US NOT FORGET AND PAY OUR RESPECT.

So before you fire up the barbeque do something that makes you feel good. It feels good to honor those who gave up so much for our country. I'm not sure how...but it makes those burgers & brats & beers taste so much better knowing that people fought for your ability to enjoy them.
