Chicago Blackhawks Mascot Body-Slams Fan at United Center
During my time as a hockey team's mascot, I was lucky to only have one minor altercation with a fan. That was nothing compared to this all out brawl.
Chicago police say a disturbance happened at the United Center around 11:15 P.M. Friday night between an unidentified man and Tommy Hawk, the Blackhawks mascot. The fan provoked the mascot and began punching him and put Tommy in a headlock.
A video from the arena's concourse shows Tommy Hawk gaining the upper hand. The mascot lifts the attacker into the air and slams him to the ground before throwing a bunch of punches.
"We are gathering the facts and will have no further comment at this time, pending our investigation," the Blackhawks said in a statement.
