IN STUDIO: Cedar County Cobras Bring The Friday Blues

The Cedar County Cobras swung by the Dwyer & Michaels Morning Show on Friday before heading to their night at the Mississippi Valley Blues Society's Blues Fest.

An upright bass, some blues guitar, and a bass drum with some modification brought a full band sound as they played their original songs.

In 2023, the duo released their debut album "Homesick Blues" which has been charting worldwide and placed in the top acoustic blues records of 2023 and 2024.

The duo are Iowa natives, and they are the current winners of the solo/duo category for the Iowa Blues Challenge and placed as semi-finalists at the 2025 International Blues Festival in Memphis.

Tom Spielbauer, is known for rich baritone vocals and his magical guitar playing, with April Dirks playing an upright bass to hold down the low end instrumentally, and the high end vocally.
