Canadian-Invented Hawaiian Pizza is Most Popular in U.S. This Year
A pizza invented in Canada has been deemed the most popular pizza in the U.S, based off the annual Grubhub end of year report.
Grubhub's "Taste of 2020" report has crowned Hawaiian Pizza as "America's Favorite Pizza," after the report showed an increase making the pizza 689% more popular than last year. Hawaiian pizza combines tomato sauce, cheese, cooked ham, and the controversial pineapple.
The world has been arguing for years that pineapple doesn't belong on pizza, but the reporting shows that America has opened their eyes to the truth.
Greek-Canadian Sam Panopoulos claims he invented the pizza in 1962 at Satellite Restaurant in Chatham, Ontario. The fact has been disputed by many, some saying it was invented in Australia, and others saying it was an evolution of a German dish of ham, cheese and pineapple on toast.
Whatever it may be, I'm just glad I have some facts to back up why I think Hawaiian is the best.
