Some crazy body cam video from Louisiana shows a police chase ending with the suspect being attacked by an alligator after jumping into a swamp to try to get away from the cops.

Louisiana State Police say 40-year-old Victor M. Rivas of Montz was recklessly driving a Toyota Supra on Interstate 10 when he struck a concrete barrier, blowing out a tire.

Troopers found the Supra driving south on Interstate 310 later on, and initiated a traffic stop.

While speaking with Rivas, troopers quickly noted that he seemed to show "signs of impairment." During the DWI investigation, Rivas ran from officers and jumped from the elevated portion of Interstate 310 into the swamp below.

Troopers and deputies began searching for Rivas and later saw him walking along Highway 61, and when authorities approached, Rivas ran back into the swamp again.

Video released by St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office shows Rivas swimming toward the edge of the swamp while an alligator followed, eventually catching up and attacking him.

While running through the swamp, Rivas was attacked by an alligator and suffered injuries to both arms, state police said. The gator injured his arms and legs, but authorities say that even despite alligator bites, she was trying to evade officers before he was eventually located and taken into custody.

Rivas was taken to the hospital and then booked on charges of DWI and resisting an officer. Police also obtained additional warrants charging him with hit-and-run and careless operation in connection with the crash that resulted in a blown out tire.
