While in college at Illinois State, I was fortunate to get to see the annual Bloomington Gold Corvette Show when it was still just growing in stature. I remember when the show left, feeling disappointed that the show named after the city would no longer be there.

To celebrate it's 50th Anniversary, the world's premiere Corvette show will return to where it all started.  Bloomington Gold Corvettes announced that with cooperation from Illinois State University, the show will come home to Bloominton-Normal June 10th and 11th, 2022.

According to a story from ISU campus radio station WZND's Joey Dwyer, The mayors of both Bloomington, and Normal are excited to welcome the show, which began there in 1973 with about 100 Corvettes. The show now hosts about 5000 Corvettes, which will bring thousands of visitors and close to a Million dollars of revenue next summer.  The show will spread across the university campus.

Bloomington Gold left it's namesake location in 1991 to Springfield Il, and later began traveling to different locations, most recently, Indianapolis.  The last time it was in Bloomington was 1998.
