Bettendorf Native to Make Home-Ice Debut With Quad City Storm
This weekend, the Quad City Storm take on the Huntsville Havoc in their first home game at the TaxSlayer Center in three weeks. It's the first match up with the Havoc this season, and they are currently sitting in first place for the SPHL. It's worth noting that the Quad City Storm have picked up points in nine of their ten last games, and our team has a league-best with a 9-2-1 record on home ice this season.
The big highlight for this weekend's matchup is the home-ice premier of Storm forward Mason Krueger.
Mason is a Bettendorf native who grew up playing hockey in the Quad Cities's youth hockey circuit, playing for the QCHA's Quad City Ice Eagles and Quad City Blues youth teams. When he went off to college, Mason played Division 1 NCAA hockey for the Army team at West Point.
Earlier this season in his lone game with the team against the Vermillion County Bobcats, Mason scored one goal and an assist.
This weekend is full of fun stuff for Quad City Storm fans, with Friday night being "Back to School" night, where teachers, administrators, and custodial staff get a free ticket when showing their school ID at the box office.
Saturday is Union Night, and the final $1 beer night of the season.
Tickets are available at the TaxSlayer box office, or through QuadCityStorm.com.
