Flight Delayed Because Of A Few Thousand Bees On The Plane
A flight out of Charlotte had to be delayed while the grounds crews worked carefully to remove a few thousand bees from the plane's tarmac.
Thousands of the bugs were seen gathering inside and on one of the American Airlines flight's turbine just before takeoff.
Video was captured by a passenger, showing a man in a hi-vis vest scraping the bees onto black frames with a brush. As he collects them, he places the frames in wooden beehives so they can be moved to a safer location.
Passengers were forced to wait on the tarmac at Charlotte Douglas International Airport until the insects were fully removed.
The flight was delayed about an hour as the rescue operations took place.
This weird bee delay happens just days after a plane had to make an emergency landing after hitting a coyote during the takeoff process in Rhode Island.
As the plane took off, the coyote wandered onto the runway, and forced the pilots to turn back out of an abundance of caution.
After about 10 minutes in the air, the pilot came over the loudspeaker and informed the passengers, "This is the flight crew. If anyone heard that thud, we hit a coyote, and we are now on our way back to Providence.”
