61-year-old Glenford Turner is a veteran of the United States Army and, after a recent MRI, is bringing a malpractice lawsuit against the VA.

The vet had been "experiencing a recent episode of dizziness and long-term abdominal pains" according to the Faxon Law Group. During the procedure his pain worsened and it had to be stopped.

An x-ray image later showed that a scalpel was left inside of Glenford. The medical knife was one used during a prostatectomy several years earlier. Another surgery in April 2017 removed the scalpel.

"The VA's low standard of care has been the subject of much discussion lately, but this is a new low," Faxon Law Group said. "Better care can be had at a veterinary hospital. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
