Arkansas Man Wins Lottery Playing His Step Daughters Birthday
A man from Arkansas has not only won a staggering $200,000 playing Powerball but also managed to fulfill a lighthearted promise made to his stepdaughter.
Lucky Numbers
Cally Krisell, the stepdaughter in question, revealed that her stepfather had always played their birthdates as his lucky numbers. As a running joke, they would often say that if he ever won, he would give her the winning ticket.
“My stepdad plays the numbers of me and my daughter’s birthdates,” Cally Krisell told the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. “We always had a running joke that if he won big, he would give me the winning ticket.”
Matching The Powerball
Fortune finally smiled upon him during the July 17 draw, when his ticket successfully matched the Powerball number along with four of the white balls. The initial prize entitled him to a generous sum of $50,000. However, since he had opted for the PowerPlay add-on for just $1, his winnings were multiplied by an impressive four-fold, totaling $200,000.
Eager to share his good fortune with his beloved stepdaughter, the man surprised Krisell at her residence.
Sharing The Good News
Krisell recounted the moment when she claimed her prize, “He stated he had good and bad news. He gave me the bad news first — I must start paying my own phone bill. The good news — I have money to pay it with, and then he gave me the lottery ticket!”
Krisell, of Greenbrier, recently claimed the winnings. She said she plans to use the money to improve her home and take a family vacation.
It is worth noting that the life-changing ticket was sold at Flash Market, nestled in the quaint town of Clinton, located approximately 70 miles north of Little Rock.
