America’s Only Bi-State St. Patrick’s Day Parade Hits Quad City Streets This Weekend
The St. Patrick Society of the Quad Cities will be holding their 32nd annual Grand Parade this Saturday. Here's everything you need to know, you won't want to miss it.
The Grand Parade is the only St. Patrick's Day parade in the USA to cross over state lines. This Saturday tens of thousands of people will be spread out along the route in Rock Island and Davenport.
A special Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Rock Island at 10am.
The parade itself starts at 11:30am at the corner of 4th Avenue and 23rd Street in Rock Island and will wind its way through downtown before crossing the Centennial Bridge. The route ends at the River Center in downtown Davenport on 3rd Street.
Following the parade is the The Post Parade Bash at the River Center from 1pm to 4:30pm. Included in the bash is the presentation of The Grand Parade trophy winners, food, drink, memorabilia, a 50/50 raffle, and Irish music and Irish dancers.
Entertainment will be provided by The Don't Be Brothers, The Mayer School of Irish Dance, and Derek Grant, Piper.
Entry to the Post Parade Bash is by St. Patrick Society membership only and can be purchased at the door for $15.
