Alligator Climbs to Second Story Porch, Enters Home, Refuses to Leave
Susie Polston of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina was rudely awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of somebody or something breaking into her home.
The Polston family barricaded themselves in the master bedroom, until 16-year-old Ben took a look outside the door. A 10-foot alligator had made its way up a stairwell to a second story porch.
From there it broke through an aluminum screen door and sat by the sofa. “It was just surreal. It was so bizarre,” Susie Polston said.
A nuisance removal agent had to spend two hours getting the gator away from the porch so he could snare it.
