70-Year-Old Veteran Wins Lottery Days Before Veterans Day
On Friday, a 70-year-old Army Veteran from North Carolina watched as a $1 lottery ticket he purchased ended up yielding him $276,688 in the Cash 5.
Ernest Dodson said he about fell over when he realized he had all the numbers. After Uncle Sam steps in and takes his share of the winnings, Ernest will be receiving about $195,757.
When asked what his plans were with the money, Dodson said he can now be debt free with this money. "I'm going to pay off my car and my house. I'm also going to get a bigger TV so I can watch my favorite wrestling matches.”
The Cash 5 is drawn every night, with tickets costing $1. Ernest drove to the headquarters in Raleigh to claim his prize as soon as he could.
