17-Year-Old Arrested After Attempting to Steal Plane, Crashes into Fence

A 17-year-old girl was arrested in Fresno yesterday when she jumped the fence at an airport and attempted to steal a plane.

The girl hopped the fence at Fresno Yosemite International Airport, put on a headset, and started one of the engines. She then crashed the King Air 200 into a fence, causing substantial damage. She never got the plane off the ground.

Police said there was no evidence of a domestic terrorism incident. She was apprehended in the pilot's seat of the plane and taken into custody there. No commercial aircraft were in danger at the time of the incident.
