10-Year-Old Grew Out His Hair for Two Years to Make Wig for Friend

Tyler Boone is a 10-year-old kid in Georgia who's been friends with a 12-year-old girl near Tampa named Gabby Ruiz since they were really young.

Gabby suffers from alopecia areata, the autoimmune disease that attacks your hair follicles, so you lose all your hair. Usually she wears a head cover.

About two years ago, Tyler asked why she never took it off, and his mom explained the whole thing to him. Then he said wanted to do something to help her.

So for the last two years he's been growing his hair out to make a wig. His hair finally got long enough for him to get it cut last Wednesday. It was a little bit past his shoulders, so more than a foot long.
