You Have Less Than Thirty Seconds to Make a Good First Impression

There's a period of time between meeting somebody and having them decide that that definitely do not like you and that time period is very, very short.

According to a new survey from Dollar Shave Club, you only have 27 seconds to make a good first impression. That's not 27 seconds from when you start talking either. Most people start their countdown clock from the moment they see you.

So how do you make sure you leave a good impression in under half a minute? The survey found ten things you should do:

1. Smile.
2. Be polite.
3. Be well-spoken.
4. Make eye contact.
5. Listen well.
6. Smell nice.
7. Hold the conversation well.
8. Good body language.
9. Good tone of voice.
10. Dress well.

The worst things you can do are smell bad, be arrogant, and dress poorly.
