Woman Takes Cab From NYC to Pennsylvania, Skips Out on $600 Fare

44-year-old Kelli A. Boyer took a 135 mile cab trip from New York City to Denver, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Upon arrival, she tried to skip out on the fare by hiding in her house.

The two and a half hour trip ended around 1am with a $600 fare. Boyer told the driver that she would be back in a few minutes to pay the fare, then she disappeared into her house.

After fifteen minutes of waiting, the cab driver called police. Upon arrival they noted that her garage door was still open and there were several lights on inside the home. Officers attempted to contact Boyer, who refused to answer her door or phone.

Boyer was charged with a misdemeanor count of theft of services.
