Using Your Hazard Lights While Driving Could Land You a Ticket

Did you know that in some states it's illegal to have your hazard lights on while you're driving? In some states it's not a big deal, but in others you could end up with a $100+ ticket.

While you think that you're helping other drivers with your lights flashing, really you could be misleading them. Hazard lights may make others think you're stopped or driving slowly.

You also lose the ability to use your turn signals while the hazard lights are engaged.

So what about Iowa and Illinois? According to AAA:
Iowa – The use of hazard lights are not permitted while driving except to indicate a traffic hazard.
Illinois – The use of hazard lights is not permitted while driving.
