The USAG-Rock Island Arsenal, in cooperation with the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund, will host The Wall That Heals, Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2.

The Wall That Heals is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington D.C., and includes a Mobile Museum Display. The Wall and Display will be available for public visitation, 24-hours a day, from July 30 to Aug. 2.

Rock Island Arsenal leaders would be honored to have your organization participate in this historic event to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War by visiting the display and by having members of your organization volunteer to stand vigil. The VVMF requires volunteers to stand vigil at the event site 24-hours a day to provide short information briefs to visitors and to locate names of fallen warriors on the wall. Volunteers must be at least 18-years of age.

Vigil shifts will be divided into three hour shifts. The event site will be located at Memorial Field. Everyone is also invited to attend the opening day ceremony on Thursday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Field at Rock Island Arsenal. For additional information or to volunteer, please contact 309-782-3518 or 309-782-2241. Your response by July 15 is greatly appreciated.
