We're touring the Quad Cities, looking for the best meals, drinks, appetizers, and stories we can find, just to know why the places we eat are Our Best Bites.

After a hankering for some awesome Mexican food, we decided on a stop at Blue Iguana Mexican Cantina at 201 N Cody Rd, in Le Claire, where we got to try some house made Mexican dishes.

There we met up with General Manager Shawn Smith who had a minute to talk about what makes Blue Iguana so unique.

They highlighted a few foods for us, their most popular being the Campechano Tacos. They're Three marinated steak and chorizo tacos with melted Chihuahua cheese and poblano sauce, resting on some corn tortillas.

Then it was on to the queso. It comes out of the kitchen still bubbling, because rather than use a pre-made cheese sauce, Chef Jeremy's throwing some Chihuahua cheese in a skillet and topping it with chorizo.

Check it out in the video, where you can see just how melty the cheese is.

On top of all of their signature drinks, like the Blue Iguana Margarita, or even their frozen mango, strawberry, peach and raspberry margaritas, the full service bar is for sure going to bring you just about anything you could ever want or need.

Blue Iguana Mexican Cantina is dishing up some great food, great drinks, and a river view dining experience, which is why they're one of Our Best Bites.
