Florida Woman Burns Down Boyfriend’s House After Threatening Him Online
Some of these Florida people stories have headlines so crazy you think they aren't real, but it's all right there in the police report.
A Clearwater woman was accused of setting her boyfriend's home on fire - and it was easy to point the finger at her because of some threats she had previously made to him on social media posts.
Police said an anonymous tip pointed them toward the social media posts of 55-year-old Heather Jo England. According to the arrest report, on some social media posts, England threatened to burn down the home of her boyfriend's grandmother, who was letting the boyfriend sleep in the shed.
“The defendant made statements indicating intent to burn down the residence, including stating she would ‘huff and puff and blow his house down’,” the arrest report said.
Police say after looking at some neighbors' security footage, they were able to see that England's vehicle was at the home just about 41 seconds before an officer reported the fire. She then admitted to setting the shed on fire using a camping-style propane tank with a torch attachment.
At a dog park nearby, she told an acquaintance that she was the one who started the fire, due to her being "pissed off" at her boyfriend for stealing from her.
55-year-old Heather Jo England was arreested and charged with first-degree arson.
