Woman Killed After Being Impaled by Beach Umbrella

Lottie Belk was celebrating her 55th birthday at Virginia Beach on Wednesday when a gust of wind picked up a beach umbrella and impaled her.

Emergency crews were on the scene at about 5pm after reports of a woman in cardiac arrest, on arrival they discovered that the woman had been impaled in the torso. Belk was taken to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury where she died.
