If you aren't familiar with Periscope, it's a new app from Twitter that lets you stream live video broadcasts of whatever you're doing. Based on what happened here, I really mean "whatever you're doing."

23-year-old Whitney Beall of Lakeland, Florida was driving home drunk on Saturday night, and broadcasted her ride live on Periscope. She wasn't trying to hide it. She opened up her broadcast by saying, "I'm driving home drunk. Let's see if I get a DUI. In the U.S.A., people! Let's see if I can get a DUI. I don't think I will. I really don't."

Well, she was wrong. Several people called 911 to report her, a cop in Lakeland went on Periscope to track Whitney down. By the time they caught up with her she'd already blown out a tire by hitting a sign and when she tried to pull over she hopped a curb.

She was arrested for drunk driving. And that's exactly what she didn't want to happen, because as she said during her broadcast, "I really don't want to get a ticket, a DUI costs so much more than what I'm worth."
