We couldn’t be more excited about Uber's launch in the Quad Cities this week. They kicked things off on Tuesday with free rides for the QC all week--but the week’s not over, and Uber has more surprises for us.

In honor of the end of Iowa’s legendary bike ride RAGBRAI, this Saturday, July 25th from 9am-9pm, you can request UberPEDAL, the on-demand bike rack option for cyclists. With the touch of a button, a car equipped with a bike rack will arrive, taking visitors and residents wherever they need to go. This is an especially great deal considering the extra traffic and larger crowds in Davenport for the Bix 7 and street festival. Who wants to park in that mess?

According to the Uber team, this is how you can request an UberPEDAL this weekend:

  • OPEN your Uber mobile app
  • SLIDE the button to the UberPEDAL option
  • REQUEST your UberPEDAL ride
  • RIDE with your bike safely strapped on a rack.

Pricing: Rates for UberPEDAL will be the same as uberX, FREE! Remember to use code QCFREE. Each rack can fit two bicycles.

Reliability: During this period we will have limited supply of UberPEDAL partner drivers. The best reliability in our core downtown service area.

Requesting: When dropping your pin or entering your pick up address, make sure you're in an area where the driver has room to safely pull over. Look for loading zones and open parking areas.

Happy biking, RAGBRAI!
