Turning Sex Into a Workout by Wearing a Fitbit
You can always tell when someone starts wearing a Fitbit. They become obsessed with the number of steps they take each day and count everything as exercise.
That apparently is leading lots of people to count "relations" as a fitness activity. A survey found that 79% of people think sex is a legitimate form of exercise. One-third of people who have a fitness tracker wear it when they're getting it on.
But only 1 out of 10 admit to the other person that they're counting sex toward their daily exercise goal. 9% say they actually try to make sex last longer to get more fitness benefits out of it.
Now, whether sex really is exercise or not is up for debate. A study a few years ago by the University of Montreal found men burn an average of 4.2 calories a minute during sex, and women burn 3.1 calories a minute.
