Today in 1975: AC/DC released their debut album 'High Voltage'. The album featured a cover of 'Baby, Please Don't Go' a blues song first recorded by Big Joe Williams and 'She's Got Balls' which was written about singer Bon Scott's ex-wife Irene - the first AC/DC song for which he wrote lyrics. Some weeks later, it was sitting on my sister's bedroom floor. It was different than anything I had ever heard. I blame this record on my decent into bands like the sex pistols and most all other guitar-punk. A great day indeed. The american version would come out in 1976, completely re-tooled. I then took a weird turn for a few years with bands like Gary Numan and Buzzcocks in the mix. But this record was always a great listen. Wish I still had it.
