This is the week that David Bowie's "Aladdin Sane" became the #1 album in the UK and it almost was the #1 album for the whole year 1973.  It was the second of three concept albums featuring his alter-ego "Ziggy Stardust," a rock star messenger for space aliens.

The story of David Bowie at that time was far more interesting (to America) than the story of Ziggy Stardust, but he managed to hold our attention and pack one album's worth of great songs in to three albums.  But I'll give it proper kudos today and add it to the Punch-Out line up at 5:00.
